We're excited to be hosting a training camp at the beautiful Sleeping Giant Provincial Park this August!  (Limited to 50 participants)

*Must be at least 18 years of age to stay at the group sites.

What's this Run Camp all about?

- A weekend of guided group runs, with a focus on connection and adventure.

- Structured training runs and strength & mobility sessions with options for varying abilities and experience

- Group discussions on running-related topics

- Unstructured times to encourage connection

- Free electric group campsite

- Free catered meals for: Friday's dinner, Saturday's lunch and Saturday's dinner + Evening S'mores options!  (more details coming soon)

Who Should Attend?

Runners of all levels are welcome. Are you a:

- novice runner looking to learn more about running in general?

- more experienced runner who hasn't tried trail running but wants to learn more about it?

- someone looking for guided group runs in a beautiful location?

- veteran trail runner looking to put in a big weekend of training in preparation for fall races?

We will have short, medium and long runs scheduled based on where people's abilities are at. But generally, people should be able to run (run/walk) 16Km.  We will have enough group leaders for each pace group, but participants may at times need to run without a leader to the next designated meet up point.  Pace groups will naturally be formed based on people in attendance.  Longer runs could range from 2-4 hours, based on break times and peoples’ preference.

Accommodations:

We have secured large group campsites for everyone.  Although people are not required to stay in these group sites, we strongly encourage them to spend time with the group. Sharing meals and hanging out during unstructured times is a huge part of this experience, so dust off your tents, bust out those sleeping mats and come hang with us! (No trailers allowed: those wishing to drive their trailer out, are welcomed to rent a separate camp site)

PARKING PERMITS: Participants driving out will need to purchase their own parking pass (Ontario Parks passes will not cover the overnight camp parking)

Coaches:

Antonio Stefanile:

I found running after high school, after being diagnosed with a medical condition. The sport has given me an opportunity to redefine my limits and meet amazing humans along the way. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and fell in love with trail running during a critical point in my life. Since 2017, I have lead Upriver Running and have enjoyed contributing to the growth of our trail running community through training, racing and hosting events. Sleeping Giant Provincial Park is one of my favourite places in the world and I look forward to sharing this weekend with others.

Kip Sigsworth:

Running has been a central part of my life for over 40 years - as an athlete, coach, and organizer. Through these experiences, I have gained a deep understanding of various aspects of the sport at all levels from beginner to high performance.  I am excited to have the opportunity to help participants with their journey in anyway I can, while getting the opportunity to meet and hang out with new people in a beautiful location.
