I am excited to be partnering with UpRiver Running as they expand their services to provide this training group. Running has been an obsession of mine for as long as I can remember both as an athlete and a coach. Some of my fondest memories and best friends have come from my time in the sport and I am happy to be able to pass some of what I have learned to you.
While I have competed and coached at times at a higher level, I have always been more interested in how running provides opportunities for challenge, growth, and self-discovery than about winning. Getting better as a runner is hard work and at times can be a grind but it can also be a lot of fun and incredibly satisfying. I love helping athletes accomplish things that they had previously believed to be impossible for them, whether that is completing their first race, improving their personal best, or exploring their ultimate running potential.
I hope that we can learn from each other, embrace the challenges that running brings, and improve, all while sharing some laughs along the way.
Kip has been a friend and mentor over the years and we're so excited for his addition to our team.
You may know him best from his terrible dad jokes, but he also happens to have an extensive history in the sport:
National Coaching Certification Program Performance Coach (old level 3) - Distance Running
Lakehead University Head Coach for Cross Country Running and Indoor Track (2005 - 2020)
Olympic Trials top 10 placing as an athlete (800m)
Over 20 years of coaching athletes at all levels from elementary school to Masters (over 40)
Proud father of Violet and Aja.
The training program is currently on hold.
